I realised that it was time to do something different

As the result of an earlier campaign of faith, I managed to start my own hairdressing salon, and I received a letter saying that my business was exempt from paying business rates for two years. That meant I would be working for profits only.

It was a marvelous catch

Even though I was well educated with degrees and a lot of professional qualifications, I was working as a cleaner and in supermarkets.

Refused the right to see my son!

Mothers go through an extensive degree of agony to give birth, but as they hold their little bundle of joy in their arms, at once the distress is forgotten. Now imagine being refused the permission to see the child you bore, and suffering alone in a land that isn’t your home for years. This was Roxon’s case and here she tells her story.

Prodigal Son 2012

My life was completely upside down. I was a very heavy drinker, smoker and partygoer. I would spend excessive amounts of money on alcohol the whole night when I went clubbing, wake up the next morning, still intoxicated, and go to work! Completely unaware of anything that was happening, I would go to work reeking of alcohol and my manager was getting fed up. He gave me an official warning, which I never took seriously, until I was let go

Left with no option

My hair salon business had been based inside of my home for the past ten years. It was very successful and was all going so well. I had a constant flow of customers and my customers were recommending their friends too.
