He knows better “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and
Remember how you talked about that person all the time, dressed like him or her, tried to imitate his speech, and even liked the same things? The fact that you were ready to change your habits to imitate him showed that you derived great pleasure from that person which is what the word delight means. God is on the lookout for people who are ready to be moulded so that they become more like Him. People who realise that God knows better and are willing to let go of their selfmade rules will be granted their hearts' desires by Him. Many single people, for example, come to God with a request: “My God, give me a partner who is like this, that, and the other.” Unless the person they find matches their detailed description they will not even consider giving him or her a chance to prove that he has more than what is needed to bring happiness. It is good that you know what you want; but let’s be honest, what is the true desire of the human heart when it comes to love? Isn’t it to find true love, a partner who will love you the way you have never been loved before, somebody who is understanding and caring? Your heart wants to be in a serious relationship that will make you feel secure and allow you to build a family! God is ready to grant this desire. But blonde hair, blue eyes, tanned skin, tall and perfect body are simply extras. What you really want is to have someone who will make you happy. In fact, you might be searching for someone with certain looks and characteristics while God has prepared someone else entirely — someone who is not perfect but who has more than enough good characteristics to make you happy. Take delight in the Lord, refine your request, and make your prayers to God more effective: “My Lord, I would like someone who is like this, that, and the other; but above all, I want to be happy. Surely You know better; therefore I am ready to compromise on some of the external characteristics so that I can meet the partner who You have prepared, who can make me happy for a lifetime. God will answer you sooner than you expect.
