A Problem Shared is a Problem Halved

Tuesday 10th July 2012

“If anyone has got this and they feel like they can’t get out of that chair in the morning – ring someone. Speak to someone.” were the wise words of Bruce Jones, the Coronation street star, who spoke about his depression and shared his struggles with the audiences on ‘This Morning’.

Who would have thought that this 59 year old man would attempt to kill himself and his wife in a 70mph car crash? Bruce reveals how he began to drink away his sorrows and didn’t speak about his problems to anyone, so it got to a point where things just built up.

Maybe, you find yourself in the same situation as Bruce did, so why not take the step that he took.

June has been the “Month of advice”, but it’s swiftly coming to an end. How have you used it?

It has been said that, “A problem shared (with the right person) is a problem halved”. Once you reveal what’s been bothering you, you will receive practical advice on how to deal with your situation and, consequently, you’ll have someone who will help you in your fight to overcome the problems you face.

So don’t let the day come to an end without speaking to someone. You can visit any UCKG HelpCentre, which is closest to you or, call our 24-hour Helpline to speak to someone on 0207 686 6000
