Chosen by God

The chosen ones are not selected based on their courage to present material sacrifices, but because they are willing to confess their Christian faith in a pagan society.”

What criteria does God use to set the chosen ones apart? – Courage. God’s Spirit doesn’t mix with the spirit of cowardice. In the past, the Lord used Rahab, a prostitute, and Jephthah, the son of a prostitute, to deliver His people.

“David’s mighty men were the distressed, indebted and discontented.” (1 Samuel 22:2)

“Besides them, there were wicked men and even children of Belial.” (1 Samuel 30:22)

However, all of them had something in common: courage. They had nothing to lose. Gideon’s 300 were angry even before being chosen. That’s why they were chosen.

The chosen ones are not selected based on their courage to present material sacrifices, but because they are willing to confess their Christian faith in a pagan society that is dominated by the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah, and yet they’re able to maintain a divine character.

“The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). Unlike those who possess a cowardly faith, the chosen ones have embraced the integrity of the Christian character, even when they’re among so-called brethren or counterfeit Christians.

The chosen ones have the courage to deny their fleshly desires because they fear the Lord. The Lord isn’t ashamed of them, just like He wasn’t ashamed of the heroes of faith in the past. For that reason, they’ll inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
