The secret of success

I was holding a service in Finsbury Park the other day and, at the end of it, I called on the altar those who were not sure of their salvation and didn’t want to leave the church like that, for they didn’t know what could happen to them. In fact, I completely understand them, as none of us knows when our time will come and the only solution is to be ready at all times.

However, to my surprise, I noticed that some of the people who came on the altar had been attending the church for many years, and it really drew my attention.

I won’t go into details as to why they came on the altar. Who am I to judge them? It’s their life and, to be honest, I was very happy they came. I believe there was salvation in the church on that day.

What I want to bring to your attention is that being church members is not enough – we must be members of the Kingdom of God.

The devil is not worried about your church attendance; he is worried about you putting into practice what you learn in the church. As you have been learning lately, the only way for you to be successful in all you do and, above all, to conquer your salvation is to make a PACT WITH GOD.

A pact requires a sacrifice from both parties, but it also benefits both parties. We have heard about many people who made a pact with the devil among them, many celebrities and wealthy people.

Are they benefiting from this pact? Well, they are getting the “success” and  “money” they were after; however, as I said before, the devil also wants to benefit with this pact and believe me, the price to pay will be very high for these people.

We see in the Bible that all the heroes of faith made a pact with God. God gave His all by sending His Son to die on the cross for us and now we can benefit from all that He has; in turn, we must also surrender, offer, sacrifice our all on His altar.

Take a look at what the Lord Jesus said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6: 33). Are all things being added to you? Are you enjoying the abundant life that the Lord Jesus promised?
Why not?

The answer is simple. It’s because you are not seeking Him first. And I’m not talking about praying; there are people who spend most of the day praying, yet they have nothing to do with God.
Seeking Him first means putting Him first in everything we do. It means making a

pact with Him that nothing (money, career, fleshly desires, etc.) and nobody (family, friends, etc.) will be above Him.

Have you already made a pact with God? If you have, I’m sure that “these things are being added to you”.
If you haven’t, you will have an opportunity to do so this coming Sunday morning at the UCKG.

God bless you abundantly,
