Pact with God

These are the quotes that Bishop Macedo has used to describe a pact with God during the radio programme on arcauniversal.com. He expressively used these quotes in order to simplify the real meaning of what making a pact involves and requires from those who are ready to make a pact with God this coming Sunday.

“You are torn between two thoughts, and your life doesn’t move on…” (Referring to people who haven’t made a pact with God yet)

“You haven’t gotten married to God yet.” (Genesis 15:18)

“Leave your emotions aside.”

“Use your head, because the heart leads to hell.”

“A pact involves two things: the word of the participants (God’s and the person’s) and attitude (which is their daily surrender to each other)

“A pact is like marriage: it requires daily sacrifices.”

“To your descendants I will give this land…” – God gave Abraham his Word.

“If God gives us His Word but we don’t give Him our word, there’s no pact.”

“If I do not fulfill my part, you have the right to do to me what was done to the animals…”

“Having an abundant life is not about having money… you don’t eat money!”

“What brings you happiness is to be at peace with yourself… with God, with your wife…”

“When you make a pact with God, when you accept the terms of a pact with Him, He automatically enables you to find a person who is also faithful to Him, who also has a pact with Him, to build a family with you and make you happy!”

“You will build a family with someone who belongs to God too…”

“The horizon bar of the cross represents the pact you made with your husband/wife… that’s where your happiness begins…”

“Nothing can make a person happy if he does not have a structured family!”

“When you start disciplining yourself according to God’s will, you are using your intelligence.”

“I am married to Esther… I don’t go to places where she doesn’t want me to go, and she doesn’t go to places where I don’t want her to go…” (Exemplifying a pact with God)

“I had the courage to demand an answer because I had a commitment with God…”

“A person’s strength is not in his muscles or stature…”

“I hope you make your pact with God this Sunday!”
