About the Training Centre

The UCKG Training Centre began in 2000 and is an established project that provides vocational training to people residing in the borough of Islington and in other areas of London.

The Centre is open for people from different backgrounds including those who are at risk of exclusion from the labour market such as:
the long term unemployed, women returnees, lone parents, unachieved school leavers, people lacking work skills or confidence, people whose first language is not English, those from ethnic minorities and ex-offenders without job skills.

Our mission

We aim to train and equip users of the Centre to be more competitive and skilled for the job market by providing accessible training, fully publicised courses, childcare provision, trainee support, information on benefits, job search, etc.

We provide a wide range of training programmes that lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

The Centre runs daily training and advisory sessions of pre-vocational and vocational programmes. Working in partnership with other training providers our training courses provide pathways to employment, business enterprises and further education.
