Released: 07.05.08
R&B star Jay Sean is lending his support to Liberty Radio’s station search for the best Children’s Hospital Ward.
The British singer was championing the special week held on Liberty Radio (Sky Digital Channel 0186 and www.libertyradio.co.uk). The London based radio station was aiming to raise awareness of children suffering in emergencies around the world.
Throughout the week listeners were asked to email in to nominate their choice of children’s ward. Those nominated were then entered into the competition to win the prestigious title of ''Children’s Ward of the Year 2008'' and the winner Samantha King received a personal visit from the R&B singer himself, Jay Sean and Liberty Radio's Breakfast Show Presenter Richard Anderson.
Representatives from children’s organisation, Save the Children and Giant Sleepover, the world’s biggest and record breaking sleepover event, were also lending their support in the run up to the event.
Upon presenting the award to the hospital with Jay Sean, the Liberty Radio presenter Richard Anderson said: “Jay Sean and I feel it's great to be able to give something back to the community in the form of recognition''.
Liberty Radio presenter Richard said: “Liberty Radio are thrilled to have such a talented and high profile singer as Jay Sean supporting our Children’s Awareness Week. Children’s wards across the country do fantastic work helping sick children and we’re here to give them something back in the form of recognition.
Listen in to the breakfast show on Sky Digital Channel 0186 and www.libertyradio.co.uk from 7-10am.
