Rocking in the Aisles at Catford UCKG

Released: 14.08.07

UCKG is opening the second phase of its Catford HelpCentre on Bromley Road this Saturday August 18 with a performance by its very own gospel band.

The UCKG Band will perform a set of gospel music in celebration of when the HelpCentre’s brand new 500 seat auditorium open its doors to the public for the very first time at 11am. This now completes the renovation of the ground floor of the building which formerly housed an ABC cinema.

The day’s special services of prayer will take place in the new auditorium, led by Bishop Renato Cardoso, who heads UCKG in Britain assisted by all UCKG Pastors. From Saturday onwards Pastor Carlos Barcelos will be in charge at Catford, assisted by Pastor James Botelho.

The third phase of redevelopment at the HelpCentre, which will include a training centre and crèche on the first floor, is due for completion within the next few months. The training centre will offer courses that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Its crèche, Kids Zone, will be available for children of parents attending church and participating in other UCKG activities.

Pastor Paul Hill, head of property for UCKG said: “We have invested heavily in restoring this building that was once an eyesore in the heart of Catford to a UCKG HelpCentre which will serve to benefit the whole community.”

It’s going to be a great day and the UCKG Band will get everyone into the swing of things. With our new 500 seat auditorium we can now accommodate more people to enjoy and benefit from the four times daily services, seven days a week, ” said Pastor Carlos.
