What we have in common with other
Christian churches
As outlined in UCKG's 16-point Statement of Faith, this church has much in common with other Christian denominations. A few examples are given below.
- UCKG members consider the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible in their original writing as fully inspired by God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
- The church believes in one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The church believes that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
- The church believes that God created man (mankind) in His own image.
- The church believes that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead and in the personal resurrection of all mankind.
- The church observes two key sacraments - Baptism in water and Holy Communion - that are shared throughout the Christian faith, although other denominations have additional sacraments.
- As with all other Christian denominations, UCKG members are encouraged to support the church financially, within their means.
