Why this restaurant closes on Sundays

The UK is often highlighted in the media as one of the European countries where people work the most hours throughout the week. Many people are now not only working Monday to Friday but over the weekend too.

Funnily enough however, it seems that although people work all these extra hours, they still don’t seem to have enough to make ends meet. Important things are put to one side such as time with God, time with the family and so on.

One particular company in the US doesn’t believe in working on Sundays and has been closed every Sunday since 1946. Restaurant Chick-fil-A believes their recipe for success is due to the fact that they are closed on Sunday. They say, “Our founder, Truett Cathy made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. He has often shared that his decision was as much practical as spiritual. He believes that all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and Restaurant employees should have the opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends and worship if they choose to do so. That’s why all Chick-fil-A Restaurants are closed on Sundays. It’s part of our recipe for success.”

'There are many other successful businesses in the United States who are very open about their Christian values such as Bolthouse Farms which deals in commercial vegetable farming. Their company philosophy states, “The purpose of this Company is to glorify God through our business transactions, our work, and our relationships. It is further our desire to bring honor and glory to the Name of Jesus Christ by following God's Word in all of our dealings with employees, suppliers, and customers. God's Work as contained in His Inspired Scriptures will be the final authority in all Corporate matters concerning direction, decisions, and disputes. 'I have planted.. watered.. but God gave the increase.'
(1 Cor. 3:6)"

So it’s evident from the success of these companies that God will bless you in all areas including your finances and business endeavours if you put Him first in everything. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
(Matthew 6:33)

Wouldn’t you love to glorify God through your financial life and boldly be able to tell everyone how you started and the secret of your success? So why not put everything else aside and join us this Sunday at 10am (also at 7am) at your nearest UCKG HelpCentre and seek God first above everything else. The results will speak for themselves.
