Something special for the mummies

Mother’s Day cards, lampshades, handmade jewellery, baskets of hand-picked goodies, picture frames and the list goes on…

Parents and children at Southall’s UCKG recently as they took part in a special workshop designed to help parents form stronger bonds with their children.

The workshop organised by the Kids Zone group took place on Saturday 1 March and began with a prayer and an introduction to the work of UCKG HelpCentre - as most in attendance were newcomers to the church.

Out of the 70 children who were present, 30 of them were attending the UCKG with their parents for the first time. There was food and drinks and everyone had fun as they got down to creating all kinds of Mother’s Day gifts.

“The children and the parents really enjoyed themselves!” said Vivian Katso, who is responsible for the Kids Zone in Southall.

The main focus of the event was to help parents, single and married, to connect with their children and to offer help to those whose families had been separated. Most of the parents had never heard of the UCKG and were happy to have been invited.
