Patrick Swayze cancer fear

Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze has been confirmed to be suffering from a serious form of cancer, but reports that he has just 5 weeks to live have been dismissed by his doctor, reported the Metro newspaper today.

Swayze was discovered to have pancreatic cancer at the end of January and it was reported that the disease had spread to other organs. The 55-year-old has been receiving chemotherapy at a cancer unit in Palo Alto, California.

The star’s physician, Dr George Fisher has been playing down the seriousness of his condition saying, “Patrick has a very limited amount of the disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.”

Swayze’s sister Vicky died from a pills overdose in 1994 after which he began drinking heavily and had to spend time in rehab.
