Parents of heroine daughter invite
Amy Winehouse to visit her

The parents of a young woman severely disabled by heroine use, invited Amy Winehouse to come and see what the drug could do to her, reported the Sun newspaper.

Chris and Tim Williams feel that if the singer saw their daughter Nina (29), she may receive a wake up call that will persuade her to give up drugs.

Nina was just 19 when she injected heroine. This was followed by an asthma attack and thinking that taking more heroine would help her symptoms, she tragically made the biggest mistake of her life. Her heart stopped for an alarming 8 minutes. Although doctors were able to revive her, she had already suffered severe brain damage.

For the last 10 years, she has been unable to move or speak and is fed through a tube in her stomach. She is able to hear but no one knows if she can see.

Her parents visit her regularly at the nursing home where she is being cared for and her condition has greatly altered their lives. Since the tragedy, they are afraid to travel in case something happens to her while they are away.

Amy Winehouse, 24, has been in the media spot-light for her drug-taking. Nina’s parents released the photos of their daughter hoping that Amy and other drug users will learn from what happened to her.

Her father Chris, 61 said,"I would say to Amy Winehouse, ‘Please come and visit Nina.’ We don’t want to dictate to anyone how to live their lives but we want to send a message to any young people who see Nina’s pictures. They have to be really, really careful what they are putting into themselves. That is the only thing Nina can do now. She can save someone else."
