Night of power

Teary eyed and speechless, a young woman came forward. "What’s wrong?" the pastor asked. "Nothing’s wrong, I don’t even know how to explain this," she replied as she went on to tell of the miracle she experienced as she touched the Holy Mantle.

Like many people who have been attending the Night of Power - a special meeting where people are invited to touch the mantle (material that has been blessed in the Holy Land) - Patricia Ferreira came to the Night of Power at Peckham UCKG determined to receive her healing.

“Last October I found a lump on my breast. The doctor said it wasn’t cancer and would go away in a month or so. Four months on it was still there, from time to time it would really hurt.”

Doctors told Patricia that she would have to undergo an operation to have the lump surgically removed but she didn’t want to go through that.

“When I came to the Night of Power I came determined. I came to touch the mantle in a different way. After I touched it I felt different. I felt for the lump but it wasn’t there! I was so amazed. God really healed me.”

Patricia’s story is one of many coming from the Night of Power. From back pains to incurable diseases, as the mantle is being touched in the different UCKG branches people have been experiencing amazing miracles.

But what’s behind it? Does the mantle have some kind of magical power? God doesn’t do magic - He does miracles and they come as a result of you acting your faith. The woman described in Mark 5 had had a haemorrhage for 12 years; it was only when she believed that touching Jesus’ garment would heal her, that her problem ceased. Patricia’s lump disappeared when she touched the Holy mantle and believed in her healing. So what do you have faith for?

The Night of Power continues every Tuesday at 7.30pm.
