Life, love and lipstick
Are you ready for the women’s convention of the Year?

Guys, this one’s not for you - it’s all about life, love and lipstick! Ladies, get ready, the Women’s Convention of the year is finally here!

Since the successful launch of Cristiane Cardoso’s amazing book, Better Than a New Pair of Shoes, women from UCKG branches across London and England have long craved for a convention and, this summer, it will finally take place.

Sponsored by ChristiansBooksPlus, this amazing event is not about taking a sneaky peek into all things girly, it’s about delving deep into the complex world of women, and asking all you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask-I’m talking about the good, the bad and the not so hot!

What Planet Are Men From Anyway?

Just as diverse as the panel of presenters and attendees will be, the topics of discussion will be just as broad. It’s a convention that will strengthen, expose, encourage and empower all women to be the best that they can be, all the while answering the ever intriguing question, ‘what planet are men from anyway?’

Hosted by Chris Boodram, Nancy Mbugua, and Lisa Zapata of All About Women, along with Nanda Bezzera and Maria Hill of the Portuguese women’s programme Coisas de Mulher, as well as Judith Oryem of Your Say, this convention is set to be one of the best events of 2008.

Recorded in front of a live audience, the event will also highlight the work of women’s charity RAHAB (Removing All Hurt And aBuse), who works to support victims of domestic violence.

In support for their work, all ladies are invited to attend the convention wearing the pink NSNS t-shirt. A segment of the convention will be dedicated to raise awareness and help women overcome domestic violence. Appolonia Hango-a real life survivor of domestic violence and now leader of the RAHAB group will share her story, on the day and give practical tips on the things that helped, her not only to overcome the abuse but transformed her husband.

For those of you who are reading this and are already jotting down questions, opinions and ideas that you would like to put across, don’t worry you’ll have the chance to be heard and may even appear on TV!
