Great new UCKG TV programmes now airing
Reports abound of people who have made big changes in their lives because of something they read in a newspaper or saw on TV.
We have children watching shows that promote violence or promiscuity; adults buy newspapers to look for guidance in the horoscope section; teenagers get their fashion ideas from celebrity reports; families learn about health issues from TV shows… the list is endless with both positive and negative influences in the media.
How can the church reach people that get all their information from the media? Well if that’s what people are receptive to, we need to be there.
The UCKG is currently investing in a huge project to reach out to people through television. We will take the Word of God to the comfort of people’s living rooms.
By using television to explain how people can overcome their problems through prayer, we are taking the Gospel to a class of people that would not normally stop by the church or feel comfortable to address their problems on the street. Because of this we end up helping people who would normally miss out on God’s help at times when they really need it.
At the moment we are broadcasting on two SKY channels: Passion TV and MyChannel, with programmes being aired every day of the week.
RealAnswers is one of the programmes. It’s one thing to read about the promises of God in the Bible, and something else completely to hear someone talking about how they’re experiencing God’s promises today in their lives. And so, RealAnswers’ presenters invite a new guest on every day to demonstrate firsthand that there are answers to our modern day problems and that God still works.
PrayerWorks is different in that it invites viewers to call up and talk about their prayer requests live on air. At the end of the programme, a strong prayer is made for the callers, viewers and for the names of people in the Prayerbook.
Partners4Life TV is a programme dedicated to dealing with matters of the heart. Different topics are addressed and special guests openly talk about their experiences and how they’ve overcome issues that affect many people across the UK.
The response to these programmes has been great. Every week new people come to the church and are helped with issues that they have had for many years.
Although the cost of this project is very high - we are spending over £20,000 a month - the results are more than worth it. Seeing people come and discover true happiness with God is priceless. Please keep on supporting UCKG TV with your prayers and financial offerings. If you haven’t yet done so, you can fill in the form and register your interest in sponsoring the TV programmes.
