Evangelism: spread the word
Think back to the first time you attended the church. How did you hear about it? Through a friend, TV, radio, newsletter, leaflet or card? Today you are reading this article because one day you accepted an invitation. The UCKG shares God’s desire – that the churches increase in number daily; that those who are suffering come to find the God who one day helped and continues to help us. This is why bishops, pastors, assistants and members of the UCKG go out onto the streets, taking words of faith and demonstrating God’s power to those who are suffering. It is through evangelism that people will be added to the church. The National Statistics Office has estimated that an average of 10,300 people of all ages die every week in England and Wales. People are dying every day, and it is up to us Christians to do our best to ensure that we reach as many people as possible. How can you make evangelism part of your life? Evangelism doesn’t have to disrupt your daily routine. Carry a few leaflets in your bag, and as you go about your daily life, you will notice the sad expression on many people’s faces. It takes only seconds to give somebody a leaflet and invite them to a meeting. Perhaps you have a friend who is going through a bad time. Invite them. What about your neighbours, work colleagues or even your relatives? Have they been invited yet? You don’t have to go far, there are people all around you who are in need. This coming Night of Power is a great opportunity for you to do something for God. It is an opportunity for you to tell others about what God has done for you as well as invite them to also experience His power. Let us join forces and work to bring as many people as possible to receive a special blessing in their lives.
