Council pays psychic to get rid of ghost

People are forever complaining about how Councils
waste tax payers money but perhaps the story below
will give even more cause for concern.

County Durham local council paid a psychic to ‘exorcise a ghost’ from one of it’s houses after the scared occupants threatened to make themselves homeless by leaving the property, reported Reuters News.

The Council said that they could not talk the family into staying in the house so went ahead and paid half the psychic ‘ghosthunter’s’ £120 fee. They said they thought it would be more cost effective to cough up otherwise they would have had to pay for emergency housing for the family.

The Fallon family told reporters of supposedly strange events taking place in their home such as banging from the loft, items fly across rooms and doors slamming in their faces. When they called the police however, nothing was found. When they called in psychic Suzanne Hadwin they asked the council to help pay.

"This is the first time we have had to take such a measure," a council spokeswoman said. "However, the tenants were extremely distressed at the time and we therefore believed it was the most appropriate course of action."

One UCKG News reader said, “The authorities throw up their arms in protest when we want to advertise or broadcast anything to do with God’s miracles and then turn around and pay for a psychic to go in and "clean" someone's haunted house.”

What do you think? Is this a legitimate thing to spend council money or are the authorities getting things back to front?
