Caged bird flies after years of captivity

A golden eagle which has spent most of its life in captivity has beaten the odds and taken to the sky.

The 31-year-old bird named Methuselah underwent intensive training to learn to fly again after being taken from the wild and caged for years.

Staff at the Elite Falconry in Scotland were amazed to see her soar. Barry Blyther who watched her fly said, “The fact that this bird, after such a long time, with such a sad history, has the ability to fly is really one in a million.

If you feel that you are being held captive by your problems and want to be free once and for all, attend the special Good Friday service being held at all UCKGs.

No matter how long you’ve been caged, no matter how sad your history, you can learn to fly again.

All UCKGs at 7.30pm (also at 7am, 10am and 3pm)

Released on Wednesday, 12th March 2008
