Beijing for today, Finsbury Park for a better tomorrow
A special service of prayer entitled ‘Cry out for the nations’ has been scheduled for 6pm on Sunday, August 17, at the UCKG HelpCentre in the Rainbow Theatre, Finsbury Park. The UCKG congregation, clergy and London residents from many different countries will be taking time out from enjoying the games on TV to pray for their nations. Spokesman, Pastor Paul Hill said: “We decided that enough is enough. We cannot just stand and watch while our nations are in trouble... especially as we believe that the power of prayer can really make a difference. What could be a better time to pray about the world’s problems than when millions of people are thinking globally and seeing young men and women overcome massive challenges in the Olympic stadiam?” Pastor Paul continued: “I know that many people don’t think that prayer makes a difference, but the well-authenticated experience of Bishop, myself and many in our congregations is that it does. At the same time UCKG HelpCentres - as our churches are called - provide practical welfare support in the UK, South America, and Africa, reaching a total of 176 countries worldwide.” All are welcome to attend on the 17th August at 6pm.
