A missionary attacked by teens after
sharing the Gospel
Missionary Amit Patil walked back to his home in Maharashtra, India, with a bruised body and injuries marking his face. His attackers were a group of young teenagers who were angry that he was sharing the Gospel in their hometown.
Earlier that day, Amit visited a nearby city, where he is well known, to spread the Gospel to the people. He was invited into the home of a local resident, Lavanya, where he was given the opportunity to teach her and her husband about the Gospel.
Amit left Lavanya’s home and it was then, as he was returning home, that his attackers stopped him and began asking him questions. It wasn’t long before they began punching Amit in the face and the rest of his body.
Weakened from his attack, Amit is now barely able to move.
Some people are willing to put their lives at risk in order to bring good news to others. In most countries like the UK however, some Christians can speak to others freely without fear of attack. So why don’t you help to bring hope to those who need it? Speak to the pastor at your local UCKG branch to get some copies of the City News to post or give to your friends and family.
Never underestimate the impact a small action can have on the lives of many people.
