I’m sure you know, through the teachings of God, how a woman should submit to her husband and how a man should love his wife. A woman’s submission does not make her inferior, nor does it compromise her ability and intelligence. Quite on the contrary! The woman was created to help her husband and God gave her all the abilities to do so. She is as important to God as man.
The Bible teaches that, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favour from the Lord.”(Proverbs 18.22)
To find a wife is to find a good thing. How can a good thing have any blemish?
I think submission is the method that God found to avoid confusion. Only one person could be the leader otherwise, the family would be a complete disaster. God created the family to be as harmonious as the Divine Trinity. In order for a family to live in harmony and unity, the wife has to submit to her husband’s authority just as the Church submits to the Lord Jesus, and the husband has to love his wife in the same way the Lord Jesus loves His Church.
It is important to note that the Lord loved the Church so much that He gave His life to save it. This is how a husband should love his wife! The family has been constantly attacked by evil forces in many different ways, such as: filthy books, TV programmes, movies, soap operas, music, etc, all in an attempt to denigrate the family.
That is why today we see many children who hate, disobey and rebel against their parents; and they wind up getting involved with drugs and other wrong things in order to escape their family failure..
God created the family so that He could be glorified on earth through it. After He created man, He created the woman to complete him.
The devil tempted them and they fell. They turned their back on the Word of God and began to submit to the Word of the devil. Hence why the world is lost and there is so much selfishness and evil around.
This does not mean that there is no way out; there is still time to rebuild the family and re-establish moral principles. The Christian family has the duty to spread the perfume of God and set an example to those who do not have a family. The husband should represent the Lord Jesus; the wife should represent the church. Their children should represent children of God. This was God’s original plan for the family.
