Conquer and establish

It is essential to know the meaning of the words conquer and establish. To conquer is to take possession of something by force; to subdue, to overcome, and to reach. However, to establish means to set up or lay the foundation, to make something stable.

What is more important, to conquer or to establish? We believe that both are very important. We can use faith as a tool to both conquer and establish so that the things we achieve will remain. Nowadays, people want to see results immediately, and when it doesn’t happen like that, they lose heart.

These people don’t have any vision, they can only see the “here” and “now”. A person with vision knows that great things don’t happen overnight. “And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.” (Genesis 13.10-11) Lot believed in his eyes, Abraham believed in the promises of God.

Submitting to God’s discipline is the best way to establish something we have conquered. In other words: to be blameless before the law of man, acting in a clear and reasonable way without lies and deceit. And also to be blameless before God’s law, being faithful with tithes and offerings.

This is the wise way to establish what we have conquered. Here’s another secret: Think great; seek to be around successful people, those who make the difference and stand out. Be with positive people, with people who think big. And always bear in mind that the decisions we make today will bring results tomorrow.
