I came across a pastor who was inviting those who feel like killing themselves to call in for help. I didn’t think twice. I called and told them what I was going through and they gave me the address of the nearest UCKG HelpCentre, which was in Croydon.

Since coming to the church nine months ago, things have dramatically changed for me. I quit my 25-a-day cigarette habit on the first day I attended the UCKG. I also stopped drinking - something I used to do behind my husband’s back. I got married to Bruno, marriage was something I didn’t believe in before, and I was able to forgive my mother.

Letting go of the past was not easy. But now I love my mum, my brothers and sisters. They are so special to me. My life and my family are peaceful. I’m healed, my son is doing well. I’m a qualified hairdresser, there is no more addiction, no more depression, and my marriage is a blessing. My past is gone - I am so happy it’s hard to express.

Prayer played a large part in my healing. At the UCKG I was told step-by-step what I had to do and I didn’t think twice about doing it. I did what I had to do, I didn’t question I just believed and that’s how it happened.
