I felt terrible, like a complete failure. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was very hurt and going through great pain. I missed her so much. I felt so desperate that there were times that I would go to the garage and just scream. My headaches were getting worse and though I went to the doctor, I got no help, because they could not find anything wrong with me. After my wife and children had left, I felt very depressed and couldn’t take life in the UK anymore. I decided to quit my job and go back to Jamaica thinking that things would get better - they didn’t.

I ended up moving back to the UK. Six months after coming back to the UK, I came across a UCKG advert in a newspaper showing testimonies of people who transformed their lives; this gave me hope that the same could happen to me. I thought, ‘If this person’s life can change, so can mine.’ I came to the church stressed out and feeling down because I did not know what to do. But what caught my attention was the preaching and prayers. Everything was different.

I realised that the only one who could help me was God and that the only way I would see changes in my life, was if I put my trust in Him and believed that He can change things around for me. When I started to put my trust in God, making Chains of Prayer, especially on Fridays for deliverance, my life began to change. I remember one Friday I felt so different after the strong prayer. I felt lighter and the headaches disappeared immediately.

The more I came to the services the better I felt, and I regained my confidence. As I continued with the prayers and putting into action the messages he heard, God restored his confidence.

I started working on rebuilding the other areas of my life and my first step was to get my finances back on track. I didn’t spend the proceeds when I sold my house, I just put it in the bank. During this time I was praying for my finances, my children and for my life to be put back together. When I think about how God did this, I even get surprised!

With the money I’d saved, I tried to buy a house owned by a famous Arsenal football player. He had the house built for his girlfriend but she didn’t like it so he put it up for sale. I was trying to buy it but the agency sold it behind my back to his friend. The estate agent showed me many other beautiful homes but none were suitable, until the same house I’d wanted to purchase was back up on the market.

Originally, the house was selling for over a million. I paid less than a million and I paid it in cash. Now it’s worth almost 2 million! God has really honoured me. I invested the money I made after the divorce and at the same time I was praying, going to the church and asking God for wisdom.

Today my life has been restored. I no longer suffers with headaches; my finances are better than ever and once again I’m able to provide for my family. What helped me bounce back?

Coming to the church, that’s what helped me build my faith and rebuild my life. When I heard that God said I could have whatever I wanted, I had to close my ears to all the doubts. It was a big fight, I lost everything, but now thanks to God, I’m happier than ever!
