My 14-year problem gone after 1 Prayer

At the age of 16, I was faced with negative circumstances that force me to decide between continuing forward, and giving into negativity and allowing it to take me down. I grew up in Ghana watching my mother - one of my father’s five wives - being mistreated every single day.

We were young and saw no problem with our father having five wives. Sometimes, the other wives would come and insult my mum, but she would not speak up and so I forced myself to speak for her. My father would warn me saying, ‘If you speak up again, you’re going out from this house.’ It was not an easy childhood.

At 16, I started having migraines. They were so severe that at times I would black out. I’d have a strong pain on one side of my head, and most of the time I’d end up in the emergency ward.

At the age of 28, I decided to move to the UK, but things only got worse. I contracted a blood disorder that caused me to have too many male hormones and too few of female ones. It affected me so much that I was unable to work. The migraines started to get even stronger and two months later my periods stopped. Doctors were concerned and sent me for a brain scan but found nothing wrong.

I started putting on weight but it wasn’t due to me eating a lot. I was actually eating less because at times my head would hurt and I’d feel so dizzy, that I just put the food aside and went to lie down. I went from a size 12 to a size 24. Most of the time I stayed in my room crying because I didn’t know what was happening to me and nobody could help me. All the doctors could give was medication but that didn’t help. I visited so many churches and didn’t get help so I gave up on them. I said to myself, ‘I’m not going to church anymore because there is no God.’ I even went to a palm reader to get help, but found none.

I was invited by a friend to the UCKG. She said that if I went with her my life would change. I asked about the changes in her own life and she said, ‘You know very well that I used to be a prostitute so if I’m inviting you to church, believe me, it is a place where you can change.’ Because I had seen a change in her - she got married, she couldn’t have a child but had since conceived - I said in my mind, I’m going to go and see for myself.’ I came on Friday and one of the pastors prayed for me. After the service the migraine was gone. I was impressed and came back the following week.

As I made my Chain of Prayer I learned about how evil forces can work to cause problems in a person’s life. I also learned how to use my faith to fight against them. This meant me taking part in the strong prayer meetings, practising what I heard and also being ready to sacrifice. At the UCKG they were showing us something biblical, so I went for this opportunity. I made my sacrifice and within a week I started losing weight. Within two months I went back to work. In three months I was back to being a size 12.

I can never forget that a 14-year problem disappeared after just one prayer! Today I am happy, healthy and completely free.
