I sacrificed everything,
even my engagement

I suffered for 6 months from irritable bowl syndrome - a condition that affects the colon or large intestines, meaning that I had to be very careful what I ate.

After eating I would feel pain in my stomach and would have to go straight to the toilet. It was so embarrassing especially when I was travelling. Many times when I was flying I did not eat because I knew what was going to happen.

When the Campaign of faith came, I was well aware that this was my opportunity to rid myself of this problem once and for all, but I also had a more pressing need.

At the time of the Campaign I’d been in the UK for 1 year and 6 months. I had 3 more months till my visa expired and I would have to go back home to Romania. I’d always wanted to live in this country. Even though I was sick I believed that my immigration problem was more urgent. I decided to concentrate all my efforts on my immigration status.

I had to have a very serious conversation with my ex-fiancé. I told him that the relationship was not going to work because we have different faiths. It was very difficult for me to leave him behind, to make him understand that it’s not going to work. I would say that this was the biggest sacrifice for me to make.

I remember the day we presented our vow and I gave my all. I went home and I was alone and I cried so much. But I knew that God heard my cry and saw my pain.
Then something unexpected happened…

I felt a very strong voice in my mind telling me, ‘You’re healed’, so I went to test it. I couldn’t eat normal food because of my illness so I went to KFC and bought some hot wings and ate them. I was waiting to see if something would happen because usually I would feel pain and would have to go straight to the toilet. But nothing happened. I was so happy.

Though I was now healed I still had not resolved my immigration problem.
