Tired of living on the bare minimum?

There is a place mentioned in the Bible named Gilgal, which was the land where the Israelites first encamped after crossing the Jordan River, and the place where a new covenant with God was re-established. This was the start of a new phase in the lives of God’s chosen people.

The meaning of Gilgal is circle. It sends an echo through Israel’s history and recalls the 40-years they spent wondering around in the wilderness because of their infidelity (see Numbers 14.33).

Throughout that time, they did not lack anything neither did they live in abundance. Their provision for an unfaithful and rebellious nation was the bare minimum; they were provided with manna.

There are people who believe in God, know of His promises, they’re tithers but, instead of enjoying the abundance of the promise made to tithers, they survive on “manna”; they scape by on the bare minimum.

With the New Year just around the corner, can you really bear to spend another year going around in circles with the same financial issues? Whether you’ve recognised this, like the children of Israel, your infidelity towards God has brought you to this point or, that although you have been faithful to Him, you are yet to live the abundant life, which has been promised to tithers.

The upcoming blessing of tithers is your opportunity to put an end to the ‘manna’ in your life.

Bishops and pastors representing UCKG members across the globe will congregate in Gilgal to cry out to God on behalf of faithful tithers. In the same way that Israel’s encampment there marked the end of living on manna, the same will also happen in the lives of those who are faithful to God.

It’s time to say, “Enough of living on manna. Enough of scraping by on bare minimum.”
