Gideon’s revolt against Israel’s oppression by the Midianites (see Judges 6) came to a head in that iconic exchange with the Angel of the Lord, who appeared to him to deliver a message from God.
The events that followed the words, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12), not only changed the course of Gideon’s life, but also that of the entire nation of Israel at that time.
Years have gone by and Gideon has long since passed, but you perhaps find yourself in the same predicament as him. You may be looking at your life and a deep revolt boils within you, because all you have to show for the faith you have in the promises God left for the different areas of your life is very little.
If the problem isn’t in your family, it’s your health that’s under attack. If it’s not health, it’s your finances or love life…there always seems to be some kind of “Midianite” (problem) oppressing you in some way!
